Working With a Creative Agency for Your Business

I’ll keep this simple. Most businesses think hiring a creative agency is the best move for content. In my experience, it usually isn’t.

How It Typically Works

If you’re a business hiring a “creative agency,” here’s what often happens: You reach out with what you want—or they pitch you on handling your content or social media. Behind the scenes, many agencies aren’t big teams. A lot of them are one or two people coordinating projects.

From there, they:

  • post a job on Indeed or another platform

  • collect a large number of applicants

  • assign your project to the lowest bidder

That creative is often:

  • underpaid

  • disconnected from your business

  • just trying to get through the job

You end up with content that technically checks the box—but doesn’t really connect.

The Problem

Agencies are built to: 👉 maximize margin

That means:

  • you’re paying more

  • the creative is making less

  • and the final product often sits somewhere in the middle

Nobody’s fully invested.

A Better Approach

If you need content for your business, consider hiring someone directly. Post a job. Talk to a few creatives. Ask questions.

  • What ideas do they have?

  • How do they see your brand?

  • Do they actually care about the outcome?

When you work directly with a creative, you’re not just getting execution—you’re getting their full attention and investment.

Good content doesn’t come from a middleman.

It comes from:
👉 clear direction
👉 real collaboration
👉 and someone who actually cares about the result

If you’re a business in Austin, San Antonio, or the Texas Hill Country, working directly with a content creator often leads to stronger, more authentic results than going through an agency.

👉 Skip the agency
👉 Let’s build something directly
