I've been filming with SK Guitars in Spring Branch, Texas. he’s one of my dopest clients.

I've been making videos about Ken and his shop for several months now, and I'm learning a lot about guitars. Here are a few tips I've picked up so far:

I've been in the market for a guitar as I'm looking for hobbies outside of work. After spending time at Ken's shop each week, I'm becoming more and more interested in learning how to play. I've been picking Kens brain every week, and getting lots of useful tips.

One thing I've learned is that a well-made guitar sounds much better than a factory-made one. Craftsmanship makes a huge difference in the sound. I've also learned that the size of the pick matters. A pick with flex won't produce as loud a sound, while a thicker pick has less give. I'm not entirely sure what that means, so I'll have to ask Ken.

I love anything handmade, especially if it's made from wood. Ken has a unique guitar in the shop made from walnut trees. The fact that it's made from walnut is cool in itself, but what makes it truly unique is that no two guitars have the same scratch marks.

I was planning on buying a new guitar, but Ken showed me his 70s Japanese Takamine, and now I can't decide whether I should start with an acoustic or electric guitar. Lots to think about. If you’re looking to learn how to play Guitar, I highly suggest stopping by SK Guitars, in Spring Branch. The address is below.

9644 US Hwy 281 N. and FM 311, Spring Branch, TX. They offer full guitar services, including setups, fret/bone nut adjustments, and custom electronics.

We recently filmed content about a custom built, 5-watt guitar amplifier, made by D-Lab Electronics out of Michigan. I don’t know anything about amps, but apparently, it has a nice natural tube breakup. The Amp also has controls for a tremolo feature. I’m clueless with any of this, but Basically, It makes the guitar sound cool.

Even if you don’t know much about guitars, you can't help but appreciate the sound of a custom amp built by hand.
