Watching yourself on Camera

Watching yourself on camera, is probably one of the best things you can do for your acting career. The more you see yourself, the more you learn about yourself. The little nuances that make you, you will help you understand how people see you as a performer. At DDC, Dope Creative Content, we offer weekly Mock auditions where actors can perform in front of a camera in an audition setting, receive notes, make adjustments, and leave with footage to review later. Actors can perform as many times as that want during that session. This helps with real auditions, self tapes, and real performances. 

Should you hold onto the sides while auditioning? I say absolutely not, if you don’t need them. By freeing your hands, you will instinctively operate the scene very differently. And to be honest, most people will say differently, and that’s okay. You do you. And by holding onto the sides during an audition, I don’t think that will keep you from booking the role. But without a doubt, keeping your hands free during a performance, will always give you more options when it comes to making strong choices. Thanks for reading.
